Seychelle & Jade Howson On Top At Battle of the Bay 2018
Team SIC came up big at the 2018 Battle of the Bay in San Francisco over the weekend. In flat yet fun conditions, Global Athletes Seychelle and Jade Howson dominated the podium in first and second place respectively. With only 5 seconds separating their finishes - Seychelle coming in at (1:10:49) and Jade (1:10:54) - the two continued to push each other until the very end, pulling away from the pack and claiming the top spots on the podium. Building off of her win in Santa Cruz earlier this year, Jade continues to show just how capable she is of competing with (and beating) the biggest names in SUP, many of whom are several years her senior.
Seychelle finished runner-up in the 2017 Battle of the Bay and was not going to allow the same fate this year. Looking stronger than ever, she paddled hard and kept enough lead from teammate Jade Howson to ultimately clinch the victory. With her recent wins, Seychelle is now #4 on the SUP Racer Women’s World Rankings going into the last main event of the year, the Pacific Paddle Games at Doheny State Beach. Stay tuned for SIC Team updates on the Pacific Paddle Games!
