ALICE LEMOIGNE

 Athlete . Oceanlover . Waterwoman

FRANCE'S LONGBOARD MASTER

It all started on my island, Réunion, on the beach of Saint-Gilles-les-Bains. Fascinated by my older brother, I quickly wanted to follow in his footsteps and become a great surfer myself. My parents did everything they could to enroll me in a surf school. I was six years old when I first stepped onto a surfboard.

At ten, I entered my first competition, a small interclub contest, that I won. I immediately fell in love with competing. After six years on the local and national circuits, I joined the professional tour. It was in 2013, and at just 16 years old, I won my first European Champion title.

I'm passionate about raising awareness about plastic in the ocean and its impact on marine life. I work with kids in schools to teach them about the environment and the importance of keeping our oceans clean. I also organize events like beach clean-ups to help keep our shores free of waste.

When I'm not surfing, I love running and have developed a passion for foiling and winging. I'm also passionate about getting more women into surfing and am currently working on organizing future camps around the world.

JOAN DURU

Athlete . Coach . Waterman

FRANCE'S BACKSIDE TUBE MASTER

Bayonne-born Joan Duru is the real deal. The Seignosse local has been hammering European lineups for over a decade with his raw, power-based surfing.

After dominating the Euro circuit with wins at Lacanau (2009, 2016) and Vendée (2010), Duru finally cracked the Championship Tour in 2017. He proved he belonged with a runner-up finish at Peniche in 2018, then backed it up with a statement-making quarterfinal at Tahiti, establishing himself as a legitimate threat in serious reef break conditions.

Despite an ISA World Championship Title in 2021, Olympic glory eluded him—until 2024. Duru clawed his way to the final Olympic qualification spot in Puerto Rico through sheer grit. At Teahupo'o, he charged to a solid 5th place finish before fellow Frenchman and eventual gold medalist Kauli Vaast knocked him out in the quarters.

When conditions get critical, Duru comes alive. His backside tube-riding is world-class—a skill earned through years battling the most demanding waves on the planet. His signing with Team SIC Maui signals a new chapter that perfectly aligns with his hard-charging reputation.

Between sessions, Duru's been spotted coaching 13-year-old prodigy Tya Zebrowski and mentoring Olympic champ Vaast. But don't think he's slowing down—Duru's now pushing his limits in big-wave foil surfing, proving he's far from finished redefining what's possible in heavy swell.

Anaé was born and still lives in Brittany on the Ria d'Étel (Morbihan). At just 15, she had already experienced the fun of sailing an optimist, surfing, diving and more. She soon discovered surfing and windsurfing, and immediately fell in love with the ocean! After several years of practicing water sports, Anaé became a sailing instructor's assistant. By 2022, more and more wingfoilers were appearing on the water, and Anaé began foiling for the first time. It was the turning point! After 6 months, she took part in her first competitions and entered the world of wingfoil. She's particularly fond of racing for the speed sensations it offers.
