Building on the success of the KA’A mid-length foilboard, the HALAU is Mark Raaphorst’s latest design—purpose-built to guide students from basic wing handling to their first successful flights.
Named after the Hawaiian word for “place of learning,” the HALAU delivers on its promise. Developed in collaboration with wing foil schools, this board boosts confidence, accelerates progress, and streamlines instruction.
Its mid-length shape provides low drag, smooth glide, and solid upwind tracking making it exceptionally beginner friendly. The chiseled tail cut out helps students pop up easily at low speeds, while the extended flat bottom section adds side-to-side stability in light wind and during early wing handling.
For clear guidance on stance, the foilboard pad graphics can be used as visual cues for foot placement, with the rear SIC logo indicating the ideal rear foot position when foil is centered on the track. Instructors benefit from the high-visibility rail color, making it easy to assess rider positioning and trim from a distance.
The 16-inch foil tracks provide versatile setup options to adapt with each rider’s learning curve with the Flite Foil system. Comfort is also key—the soft deck pad protects the knees during kneeling starts. The board includes two carry handle options: an EZ Grab handle on the bottom for ease of transport when the foil is installed, and a regular deck handle for convenient everyday use.
