LUDOVIC TEULADE

RACER • SURFER • COACH

Born in land-locked Paris, the French capital, Ludo was perhaps not destined to live on and from the ocean! With both his parents being sports teachers, Ludo had the chance to try various different activities, a lot of swimming, skiing and skateboarding, and a lot of traveling, especially to the Atlantic coast, to surf small waves and have fun in the shore-break! It was later on, staying at his grandfather’s in Marseille, that Ludo, along with his brother Jeremy (already a total windsurf addict !) first saw and discovered SUP. The brothers’ passion for their new shared activity grew fast, especially wave surfing and downwind.

It was a win-win situation, the boys loved the physical side of paddling and the unique sensation of gliding over the water on an SUP. The resulting endorphins made for an intoxicating cocktail!

Competitive since birth, it was a natural next step to want to break into competitions and make a name for themselves. They were fortunate that France and Europe had already established an extensive competition circuit attracting the best paddlers, which helped them progress quickly and test themselves in a variety of conditions, and to enjoy being part of the amazing and small world of top level SUP ! Fast-forward through several years of lake, sea and ocean racing, Ludo has twice been French National champion, winner of the infamous GlaGla Race, and has had numerous top 5 finishes in big international competitions. Add to that his numerous wins on the Waterman Tahiti Tour on the Polynesian competition circuit. Today, Ludo is a name among watermen, for his surfing and foil-boarding, also as a coach, passing on the benefit of his experience to future generations of paddlers.

"Enjoy the glide, train and believe in yourself !"

ETHAN BRY

ATLHETE  • STUDENT • WATERMAN

Ethan grew up and still lives on one of Brittany and France's most beautiful peninsulas, the Presqu'ile de Crozon. Its "cruciform" tip makes it a magnificent playground for expressing yourself on the water any and every way you want. Living so close to the sea, Ethan has become a true master of all. He's non-stop, changing sports for whatever the weather conditions may be. Surf, SUP foil, surf foil, prone, windsurf, wing foil, and a bit of Mountain Biking allows him to burn off energy. But it's Foil, SUP Race, and SUP Downwind where he best expresses himself.

“Being on the water makes me feel like my real self. It's the perfect wake-up every day. It's an addiction!”

At just 18 years old, he's already a big success on the international scene. Ethan got into SUP at an early age, thanks to his dad, but he got serious about paddling five years ago when he began training with his coach Amaury Dormet and riding at and for the Crozon Waterman Club. Over the last two years on the Euro Tour (the top European Circuit), Ethan had some impressive results. Especially his 3rd place in Majorca and 6th in Alicante. His favorite competition is Downwind. "It's full-on. Anything can and does happen. Especially if someone has a fall, you have to read and ride the waves and swell."
This year promises to be intense for Ethan as he takes on the added challenge of starting medical school while pursuing a racing career. All the same, he's expecting to be out for at least one serious session every week. We can't wait to see him back in competitive action in the second part of 2023, but also to share in all his future downwind adventures!

"If you can dream it, you can do it!"

JUNIOR SUP TEAM

TRACE OSTROWSKI

Trace Ostrowski, 15, is originally from Park City, Utah, USA but has grown up in Sayulita, Mexico since the age of 4.

When the best SUP athletes in the World came to Sayulita in 2015 for the ISA SUP & Paddleboard World Championships he was just 8 years old and watching from the beach. At that age he was not quite comfortable in the waves but was still inspired to try something new and joined a local SUP program. Just a few months later Trace was competing in his first grom SUP race while learning to paddle from ISA silver medalist, “Bicho” Jimenez. He currently trains with the Sayulita SUP Society under former México National Champion, Fernando ”Nando” Lorenzo. If he is not out in the ocean training on his 14’ RS he will be at one of Sayulita’s surf breaks on his sup surf board, long board or short board. He hopes to add foiling to his list of water sports in the coming year.

Since he began paddling Trace has competed each year outside of México at events such as Pacific Paddle Games, SIC Gorge Paddle Challenge, The Carolina Cup, Stand Up For The Lake and events within Mexico including his home break, Sayulita, Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, Ixtapa and Cabo San Lucas. He is Mexico’s current Sub16 SUP distance, sprint and technical champion, Sub18 SUP Surf Champion and a Sub 16 CONADE Junior National Games champion.

Trace lives a 5-minute walk to the ocean and is surrounded by some of México’s best SUP and surf athletes to learn from all year round. He is stoked to represent junior SUP racers and México on the 2023 SIC Youth Development Team.

Home base for Rasmus is Massachusetts, and when he isn’t out wing foiling, surfing, downwind SUP foiling, or spearfishing, he coaches sailing and works to protect the beautiful wild spaces that he enjoys every day.
