Pornichet Glisse Trophy 2024

This weekend the Pornichet Glisse Trophy was held, an event bringing together several disciplines, including some very high-level SUP racing.

It was a friendly, local, family-friendly event, but it also welcomed some top riders, including 2 from Spain: Sergio Cantoral Quirant and Manuel Hoyuela Rojas.

On the French side, Clément Colmas and Arthur Arutkin were there, as was our SIC athlete Ethan Bry for the 5th year running, who performed outstandingly throughout the weekend.

Ethan Bry 2nd
in the Technical Race

Having arrived relaxed and motivated by the strong level of competition, Ethan finished on the second step of the podium at the end of a stormy technical race on Saturday. In a strong wind and despite 2 falls at the same buoy, Ethan was able to perform in conditions that he loves.

He particularly likes these hectic conditions, which he was able to tame and surf using his RST 14'0'' X 21.0''.

He finished 2nd after a strong start from these 5 world riders: Ethan, Clément, Arthur as well as these 2 Spanish riders, where he was able to manoeuvre and take advantage of some bumps to surf on the way back.

Ethan takes the win
in the Elite Long Distance Race

It was a completely different race on Sunday with the long distance with no wind and a light swell. Nevertheless, a hard climb upwind with a head swell and then a 90-degree bend gave way to a big battle between Ethan Bry, Clément Colmas and Arthur Arutkin neck and neck.

Thanks to his 14'0'' X 21.0'' LV RST, which he likes to ride in light airs, a few bumps and a high rowing frequency, Ethan finally managed to outrun his rivals and arrive at the beach first, having given it his all.

Four SIC riders in the top 10

As well as Ethan Bry, it was the SIC team that performed well, with 4 SIC riders in the top 10: the Young Eliott Bry, Pierre Alain De Bois and Arthur Avranches.

A great result in the face of stiff competition, always in a great atmosphere between team members, families and clubs.
