After a stunning start to the season and a place in the final of the ISA Worlds in Puerto Rico, Joan Duru will be representing France at Teahupoo.
To help him live his dream and perform throughout the season, the most Hawaiian of brands, SIC Maui, has become the main partner of one of the only two French men surfers qualified for this summer’s big event.
‘I’m really stocked to be part of the Ohana and proud to be representing SIC Maui for this exceptional season. Last week, I reached the final of the ISA Worlds in Puerto Rico. I gave it my all, right up to the last second. I’m one of the four French surfers selected to battle and try to make history on the legendary Teahupoo wave. I am looking forward to living this dream and getting ahead to perform. I am now in Peniche, Portugal, on the MEO Pro for the Championship Tour of the World Surf League, ready to take SIC Maui flag to the top. Thanks all for the support, let’s go further, together!’
